Systems and methods perform simultaneous media transfers, such as video streaming between centralized storage, e.g., a hard drive (70), that stores data for multiple users (34), and nodes, in both the record and playback modes. These systems and methods also allow for instant access to live programming and pausing thereof. There is also a central media database, typically implemented in the hard disc(s) (70) of the hard drive, that allows for video storage. High speed broadband Internet access can also be obtained from this system. |
