A method for securing tie lines to a ground mounting has an anchor block (12, 16) buried in the ground and provided with a threaded hole at the top to take an eyelet (22) or a blanking piece. The block has tapering smooth sides, e.g. a frustum of a pyramid or cone, and is made of cast concrete or any other heavy material. The block can be easily installed and removed without deep excavations.
