The loading floor has a retractable load plate (16) fitted with running rails (20,21) on its opposite sides, displaced along guide rails (31,32) secured to the automobile (10) parallel to its longitudinal axis. The running rails are secured to transverse elements (24,25) via front and rear connectors (27,28,29,30), for providing a rectangular frame (18) for the load plate, the front connectors having running elements cooperating with the guide rails.
