PURPOSE: A lamp assembly and a liquid crystal display having the lamp assembly are provided to insulate adjacent power supply modules from each other while minimizing a distance between the power supply modules. CONSTITUTION: A lamp assembly(100) includes at least one lamp(110), at least two first power supply modules(122,124), and at least two second power supply modules(127,128), a base(130), and an insulating barrier(140). The lamp has a lamp tube(112), the first and second electrodes(114,116) arranged in the lamp tube. The first power supply modules are combined with the first electrode to provide the first voltage to the first electrode. The second power supply module are combined with the second electrode to provide the second voltage to the second electrode. The first and second power supply modules are serially arranged on the base. The insulating barrier is located between the first power supply modules and between the second power supply modules.
