<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sudden start preventing device for an automatic transmission vehicle capable of applying braking even with an accelerator pedal if the accelerator pedal is strongly depressed, confused with a brake pedal in applying sudden braking. <P>SOLUTION: The pedal effort of the accelerator pedal is set in two stages. Engine speed is raised by the first-stage pedal effort. By the second-stage depression, the engine speed is minimized or an engine is stopped, thus preventing the automatic transmission vehicle from sudden start. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
