<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to confirm a photographic image on an attached display even after the photographic image is transferred to an external device. <P>SOLUTION: Data to be transferred is specified among data recorded on a recording medium (step 210) and the specified data is reproduced from the recording medium (step 202). The specified data is outputted to the outside (steps 203, 204). At this point, the reproduced data is expanded (step 205) through simultaneous or sequential processing, converted to an image size matching the display size (step 206), compressed (step 207), and recorded on the recording medium (step 208).
