RECOMBINATION PRODUCTION OF NEW POLYKETIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a novel polyketide and to produce effectively both a new polyketide and a publicly-known polyketide by using a recombination technique.

SOLUTION: The novel host vector system is mentioned which is used for producing the polyketide synthase that catalyzes in order the production of a variety of polyketides. A phase of the invention is a gene-manipulated cell which expresses a gene cluster of a polyketide synthase (PKS) in the native state of non-transformation, said gene-manipulated cell being a cell from which the whole native PKS gene cluster is deleted.
