<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen concentrating system having an altitude compensation function, the system which includes an oxygen concentrating subsystem, plenum charging system, plenum, plenum output controlling system, and oxygen-enriched air output system, which can rapidly conform to and maintain a specified range of the oxygen concentration even when the output flow rate of the oxygen-enriched air varies, and in particular, which can keep a specified output flow amount even at high altitude such as on a high mountain and in an airplane. <P>SOLUTION: The oxygen concentrating system includes: an input section to receive air from an air inlet; an oxygen concentrating subsystem including a pair of oxygen separating tubes; a plenum charging system; a plenum; a plenum output controlling system including a plenum bypass valve, and a plenum damp valve; an oxygen-enriched air output system including a system exit which outputs the oxygen-enriched air; a monitor/controller section to control valves in accordance with the information from sensors present in the above components. The monitor/controller section controls the cycle time of the oxygen separating tubes in accordance with the ambient barometric pressure measured by an absolute pressure transducer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
