PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst particle formed by firmly supporting an active species metal on a carbon support to hold through a long period of time and attaining stable performance with a small degradation in performance due to reaction and a dehydrogenation catalyst having high performance to alcohol and attaining stable performance through a long period of time.

SOLUTION: The catalyst particle is formed by supporting the active species metal on a recessed part formed on the surface of the carbon support and an edge surface constituting the recessed part.
