PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HAA (head arm assembly) which can make a resonance frequency higher, improve a wind-disturbance property, enhance impact resistance to the Z direction, reduce the tolerance of loading and simplify a manufacturing process, and to provide a magnetic disk device which is equipped with the HAA. SOLUTION: The HAA is provided with: a head slider having at least one head element; an arm member whose stiffness is high and which supports the head slider at the end part of one side; an actuator which is attached to the end part of other side of the arm member and which rotates the arm member in a direction roughly parallel with the surface of a recording medium around the horizontal turning axis of the arm member; and a plate member for load application which has elasticity and which is constituted so that its one end is fixed to the arm member and the other end part energizes the head slider in the direction of the surface of the recording medium.
