PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device for securing sufficient fixing performance even when thick paper or recording paper carrying a color image is fixed. SOLUTION: The fixing device 1 is equipped with a heat fixing unit 10 and a pressure fixing unit 20. Consequently, the heat fixing unit 10 and pressure fixing unit 20a cooperate with each other to fix a toner image on the recording paper. Consequently, even when sufficient fixing performance can not be secured by only one fixing unit like a case that the thick paper or recording paper carrying the color image is fixed, the other fixing unit complements a deficiency in fixing performance. Therefore, even when the thick paper or recording paper carrying the color image is fixed, sufficient fixing performance can be secured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
