PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system which correctly controls the temperature of a heat roller by correctly grasping the temperature of the heat roller even in a case where the temperature of the heat roller detected by a thermopile is beyond a target temperature. SOLUTION: The printer has: the heat roller; the thermopile, as a temperature sensor, which senses infrared rays radiated from an object, thereby measuring temperature; a control device which controls supply of power to the heat roller by the output voltage of the thermopile; a correction heat source which corrects a change in the output voltage of the thermopile with time; a temperature sensor which measures the temperature of the correction heat source; another control device which controls supply of power to the correction heat source; and a temperature correction means which corrects the measured temperature of the heat roller by using an output voltage from the thermopile when the thermopile is located opposite to the correction heat source. In the electrophotographic printer, the correction heat source has two or more set temperatures, and two or more temperatures are used for correcting the thermopile. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
