The invention relates to a cryptography-based method for protecting program modules during the transfer of data between program modules in a data processing unit or a data network. According to the inventive method, data is transferred between the program modules (P1, P2, Pn, A) in an encoded manner, a new password being exchanged between the program modules (P1, P2, Pn, A) prior to each transfer of data. Each password is negotiated between the modules according to the Diffie-Hellmann-Merkle method, the basic parameters thereof representing a modifiable algorithm which is predefined in each program module (P1, P2, Pn, A). The data can be encoded by any conventional symmetric encoding method. |
