The output of a laser [1] is fed through two Brewster windows [2] and the narrow band effect is obtained by using a return optical module [3]. This is built into a unit having multiple prisms and a vacuum pump is used with a valve [9] to evacuate the unit. The return unit may also be flushed using a suitable gas.
