An adhesion additive for a waterborne (emulsion) paint containing (wt.%):at least one binder (calculated as solids) (0.1-40), and/or a least one pigment and/or filler (0.1-45), at least one halogenated polyolefin (HPO)(calculated as solids)(0.5-30), water (0-80), and solvent (0-25), and optionally other convention additives for waterborne paints, where these and the above add up to 100% is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) a waterborne paint curing agent containing at least one HPO; (2) a waterborne paint containing at least one conventional base paint and at least one adhesion additive (AA) where the weight ratio of AA to base paint is 5:95 to 95:5, preferably 30:70 to 50:50; (3) a painted plastics part where the paint contains at least one AA.
