PURPOSE: A device for monitoring air pressure of a tire for a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to warn a driver of abnormal condition if a difference in the rotational speed of each wheel and a difference in the height between a road surface on which each wheel grounds and a vehicle body are simultaneously exceeds normal values. CONSTITUTION: A device for monitoring air pressure of a tire for a vehicle comprises a wheel speed sensor(12) sensing the rotational speed of each wheel; a vehicle height sensor(14) sensing the height between a road surface on which each wheel grounds and a vehicle body; an electronic control unit(16) producing a difference in the speed of each wheel by a signal of the wheel speed sensor and comparing the produced value with a normal value, and producing a deviation of the vehicle height of each wheel side by a signal of the vehicle height sensor and comparing the produced value with a normal value; and a warning unit(18) warning a driver of abnormal condition by the electronic control unit if the difference in the speed of each wheel exceeds the normal value and the deviation of the vehicle height of each wheel side exceeds the normal value.
