ELASTIC WARP-KNIT FABRIC

An elastic warp-knit fabric is formed of main knit yarns (11, 12, 13) using a knitting machine. Plural openings (16) continuous in plural courses are form ed in a base knit fabric in a mesh form. The openings are larger than needle loops (17) formed of the main yarns. Main elastic yarns (14) thicker than th e main knit yarns and main insertion yarns (15) that are more bulky and apparently thicker than the main elastic yarns (14) are linearly knitted in a course (C) direction or wale direction (W) of a base knit fabric (10). The weight of a human body does not cause a depression and slack wrinkle to be produced in the elastic warp-knit fabric when used as the surface material o f a cushion of a chair etc. Stitches are not displaced because the fabric has excellent shape stability. The fabric does not give sweaty feeling to a body because of its good air permeability. The fabric is not slippery. It is soft and gives comfortable ease. The fabric has less surface luster and does not look like a plastic product having monotonous appearance. The fabric is covered by fine undulations unique to fiber products and luxurious, and has a high commercial value.
