<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for easily adjusting gray-scale conversion while maintaining reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: A display 112 displays a region for calculating features to be used for gray-scale conversion, with relation to an object. A region instructing circuit 116 instructs a region for calculating features to be used for gray-scale conversion on the basis of the region displayed on the display 112. A features calculating circuit 117 calculates features to be used for gray-scale conversion from the region instructed by the circuit 116.
