<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method for suppressing unnecessary consumption of a recording material even when the same image is formed on a plurality of kinds of media so as to facilitate the handling in the case of presentation or the like and enhance the convenience. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of an OHP transparency and normal paper mode, an image forming section 3 forms an ordinary image on the OHP film. In the case of a normal paper on which an image of the same page is formed, an image processing section 2 applies magnification / reduction processing to the image to reduce the size of image more than that of the image formed on the OHP film, and also applies rotation processing, or color conversion of a particular color such as black/white color conversion, or applies gradation processing of thinning the density of the image, to the image and makes the image forming section 3 form the image subjected to the processing or conversion above. Thus, the toner consumption in forming the image on the normal paper can be suppressed and the reduction processing, if applied, can increase the blank on the normal paper thereby allowing the blank to be used for a memo.
