<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting a signal for efficiently detecting a pulse position of a received pulse signal in a pulse modulation receiver for receiving a pulse-modulated signal. <P>SOLUTION: A pulse generator 410 of a searcher 207 superimposes a plurality of pulses on corresponding plurality of pulse positions and generates a reference pulse. The reference pulse is multiplied by the received pulse signal, and a detection signal representing a correlation between the reference pulse and the received pulse signal is output based on this multiplier output. In this case, a correlator 402 detects the correlation between the received pulse signal and the reference pulse preferably at a plurality of pulse position units. A code component is removed from the output of the correlator by squaring to obtain a correlation detected value. A window controller 412 shifts the position of the reference pulse. The pulse position having the largest value of the correlation detected values obtained for all the positions of the reference pulses is selected as the pulse position of the received signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
