SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING OPTICAL WRITING HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical writing head exhibiting a high image quality by securing a rod lens array to a lens support with high linearity even when an inexpensive member is used.

SOLUTION: A rod lens array 14 is mounted on a lens receiving jig 11 having a longitudinal cut defined by high accuracy flat faces A and B making a right angle. Side face of the rod lens array 14 is applied tightly to the face A by performing evacuation through a suction hole 16 made in the face A of the lens receiving jig 11 using a vacuum unit 13. One lens face of the rod lens array 14 is then pressed by means of a presser 12 and the other lens face is applied tightly to the face B. Thereafter, face C of a lens support 15 is coated with adhesive and the lens support 15 is secured such that a prescribed distance X is set between the face C and the side face of the rod lens array 14 which is eventually secured fixedly to the lens support 15 by hardening the adhesive.
