<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction-measuring apparatus, capable of examining both frictional behaviors over a long sliding distance and frictional behaviors at a high sliding speed. <P>SOLUTION: The friction-measuring apparatus is provided with a pair of cassette reels 13a and 13b for unwinding and taking up a magnetic tape 12 for measuring a coefficient of friction; a dummy drum 18, which is arranged in a tape travel path between the pair of reels 13a and 13b and over which the tape 12 is looped slidably; and a weight 20 for exerting a first tension T1 on a tape part travelling between the dummy drum 18 and one reel 13a. A second tension T2 exerted on a tape part traveling between the dummy drum 18 and the other reel 13b against the first tension T1 is measured. On the basis of a holding angleθof the tape looped over the dummy drum 18, the first tension T1, and the second tension T2, the coefficient of friction is determined by a controller 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
