PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system or the like which properly reduces a noise amount in an image depending on an imaging status so as to provide the image with high quality that is subjectively preferable. SOLUTION: A noise estimate section 17 estimates a noise level of a CCD 5 in units of pixels or the like by acquiring a signal level and factors of a temperature, an exposure time, and a gain or the like of the CCD 5 for each imaging. Further, a photographing status estimate section 16 estimates a photographing status such as close-up, portrait, scenery, and night scenery on the basis of split photometry information and focus information. Then a correction section 18 corrects the estimated noise level to be mated to a photographing scene on the basis of the estimated photographing status. Thus, a noise reduction section 19 suppresses a video signal component whose level is the corrected noise level or below to thereby provide an image with less noise and high quality while storing edges of the image or the like as an original signal.
