PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device by which flickering occurring when a PWM signal is inputted at an operation-setting value of an output-stopping device is avoided. SOLUTION: The lighting device is equipped with a drive device 7 which sends switching signals of switching devices 3, 4 of an inverter, and changes the frequency of the switching signal so as to increase an inverter output as on-duty becomes small according to the on-duty of a PWM signal from a signal sending means 9; and an output-stopping device 8 provided with a hysteresis which reduces the output of an inverter 2 so as to put out a discharge lamp 6 by stopping the output of the switching signals from the drive device 7 when the PWM signal is a continuous signal. The flickering of the discharge lamp 6 is avoided by providing the hysteresis at an operation-setting value of the output-stopping device 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
