PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication network monitoring system using a SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) protocol for integrated monitoring /management and quick alarming notification of a monitored device, reducing the traffic of alarming notification and the processing burden of a monitoring server. SOLUTION: A device for systems (#1, #2, etc.) constituting a communication network is installed as a monitored device 1-3 under a SNMP conversion device 1-2. Alarming information generated by the monitored device 1-3 is collected as contact on/off information (bit information) by the SNMP conversion device 1-2. The SNMP conversion device 1-2 integrates the alarming information (the contact on/off information) using logical sum computation, converts it into management information database (MIB) information, and notifies a monitoring server (a SNMP manager) 1-1 of the information with IP addresses of the monitored devices 1-3 as transmitter addresses using a standardized management information notification protocol (SNMP TRAP).
