PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide biodegradable wadding generating a negative ion when required. SOLUTION: The biodegradable wadding has pores having≥20 nm average pore radius on the surface of an aliphatic polyester fiber containing L-lactic acid as a main component and having≥150°C melting point and attaches inorganic porous substance powder having≥20 m2/g specific surface area in an amount of≥0.1 wt.% and <5 wt.% based on fiber weight through a binder and can increase numbers of negatively charged molecules or fine particles in the air by≥300/cc in a distance within the range of 10 cm from the surface of the fiber under condition in which repeated stress accompanying at least one of friction and vibration is 500 Pa.
