PURPOSE: To provide a colorant which is used for a road surface marking material, does not contain a harmful element, is excellent in coloring power, hiding power, lightfastness, and heat resistance, and has a suppressed surface activity; and a road surface marking material which contains the above colorant and is prevented from color change with time and excellent in retroreflection. CONSTITUTION: The colorant for a road surface marking material is a composite particle powder consisting of inorganic particles of a white pigment(e.g. titanium oxide or zinc oxide) or of a body pigment(e.g. silica or calcium carbonate), a paste forming a covering film on the surface of the inorganic particles, and an organic pigment adhered to the covering film. |
