<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the operation of a nonvolatile data storage circuit provided with a ferroelectric capacitor in data restoring operations. <P>SOLUTION: The nonvolatile data storage circuit has data holding circuits 1a and 1b having storage nodes and a plurality of ferroelectric capacitors FC1 to FC4 one of the electrodes of each of which is connected to storage nodes N and NX. In the store operation for writing data of the data holding circuit into the ferroelectric capacitor, the timing of at least either buildup or decay of plate signals PL1 and PL2 supplied to the other electrode of each of the plurality of ferroelectric capacitors is differentiated. Since, in the store operations, the timing of the plate signals applied to the a plurality of ferroelectric capacitors connected to the storage nodes is shifted, a coupling noise via the ferroelectric capacitors can be dispersed and reduced and thus data inversion of the data holding circuits can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
