<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of recovering deteriorated developer in a developer container without causing such a failure that new developer to be supplied is discharged. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 2 is provided with a storing part 6 for storing two-component developer 4 constituted of magnetic carrier and toner and having an opening 7 in a position facing an image carrier, and a developer carrier 8 arranged in the opening 7 so as to supply the toner to the image carrier and develop a latent image on the image carrier. The storage part 6 is equipped with a 2nd opening part 16 in a prescribed position. A rotary body 20 is arranged in the second opening part 16. By rotating the rotary body 20 when an image forming operation is not performed, the developer 4 in the storage 6 is partly discharged to the discharge part 18.
