<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion adsorption module capable of keeping the length of an ion exchange zone short thereby reducing the volume of an ion exchanger apparatus, and eliminating the slight leakage of adsorbed ions thereby reducing the frequency of regeneration and enhancing the efficiency of treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The ion adsorption module has a vessel provided with an opening through which water to be treated flows and an open cellular structure which is packed in the vessel and has interconnected macropoers and the mespores of 1 to 1,000 μm in average diameter within the walls of the macropores. The module has also an organic porous ion exchanger having a three-dimensional network structure which is 1 to 50 ml/g in total pore diameter, is evenly distributed with ion exchange groups and is 0.5 mg equivalent/g dry porous body or above in ion exchange capacity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
