PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide control in which rotational jitters are optimized at all rotational speeds for a control circuit for a rotary polygon mirror motor of an electrophotographic printer wherein a plurality of rotational speeds can be set. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic printer which forms a latent image on a photoreceptor by a laser beam generating means and a rotary polygon mirror making a scan with a laser beam has a means of changing rotational speed of the rotary polygon mirror motor according to print resolution or/and a printing speed and a means of switching loop filters of a PLL control circuit according to the rotational speed of the rotary polygon mirror motor.
