PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for vehicle which eliminates inconvenience when operating to accelerate again after driving wheels are slipped by the operation to accelerate in a low-μroad such as a frozen road and pressurized-snow road. SOLUTION: Driving wheel idling period is defined as a period from the time after an idling start determining means 170 determines a start of idling of driving wheels 84L and 84R on the basis of a sudden increase of the rotating speed of the driving wheels 84L and 84R to the time when an idling conclusion determining means 174 determines conclusion of the idling of the driving wheels 84L and 84R when a change ratioΔV of the rotating speed of the driving wheels comes close to zero value again after crossing the zero value once. Since conclusion of idling of the driving wheels is determined when a change ratioΔV of the rotating speed of the driving wheels comes close to zero value again after crossing the zero value once, idling rotation of the driving wheels is not left immediately after determining conclusion of idling, and when operating for acceleration again, a vehicle is started and accelerated with an appropriate gear stage.
