CAPPING MECHANISM AND INKJET RECORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capping mechanism in which a cap can be abutted uniformly against the ejection opening face of a recording head with a constant pressing force and the ejection opening face can be covered while sustaining airtightness surely. SOLUTION: The capping mechanism comprises a compression spring 43 disposed between a cap holder 36 for holding a cap 35 and a cap base 34 for supporting the cap holder wherein the cap holder is supported rotatably and movably up and down with respect to the cap base and the cap base is pivoted with respect to the base part 20. A position of the cap holder is regulated to inline by a specified amount against the cap base so that the abutting face of the cap becomes substantially parallel with the ejection opening face when the cap is spaced apart from the ejection opening face by a specified interval.
