PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine holding electronic mail communication via the Internet, which automatically decides either to make electronic mail transmission, to make facsimile transmission, or to interrupt the transmission. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine holding electronic mail communication via the Internet has: a registering means for registering a telephone number for facsimile communication, an electronic mail address and the presence or absence of a color receiving function with respect to an opposite party; a selecting means for selecting color transmission; a transmitting means for transmitting transmission information as an added file of an electronic mail; and a transmitting method deciding means for deciding a means for transmitting the transmission information on the basis of the presence or absence of color transmission selection, the presence or absence of color receiving function on the opposite party and the presence or absence of the registration of the electronic mail address when the transmission of information is selected.
