PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive propylene-based resin having coating performance given by assuming that the composition is subjected to primerless coating of a water-based coating, and further having an excellent balance between the coating performance and mechanical characteristics, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a molded product of the same. SOLUTION: The automotive propylene-based resin composition contains (A) a polypropylene-based resin composition in an amount of 100 pts.wt. and (B) a modified polypropylene in an amount of 1-15 pts.wt., wherein the polypropylene-based resin composition (A) is composed of (a) a specified propylene-ethylene block copolymer in an amount of 100 pts.wt., (b) an ethylene-octene random copolymer and/or an ethylene-butene random copolymer in an amount of 20-40 pts.wt., and (c) talc in an amount of 30-50 pts.wt. Further, the modified polypropylene (B) has a weight-average molecular weight of 8,000-15,000 and a graft ratio of a polar functional group of 3.0-16 wt%, so that the automotive propylene-based resin composition has the excellent balance between the coating performance and impact strength.
