PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing, not causing breakage, etc. and free from making the use impossible even if unnecessary force in winding under overload, falling, etc., is applied to a converting part (a cam part, an engaging pin part) for converting rotary movement to reciprocation. SOLUTION: The reel for fishing is equipped with a power-converting mechanism 21 for converting rotary movement of a handle 8 to reciprocation and parallel winds fishline through the power converting mechanism 21 around a spool 3. The power converting mechanism 21 is equipped with a moving magnetic polar body and a magnetic polar body to be moved which are separately and oppositely arranged and makes it possible to convert rotary movement to reciprocation in a non-contact state by utilizing magnetic force generated between the moving magnetic polar body and the magnetic polar body to be moved.
