Method for storage and accessing data in and from a database system in which the data is stored in a two stage, geographical location dependent manner and non-scalar data is overlaid in the operating system plane with a reference key as a reference. The two stage, location dependent, storage of data is based on a first coarse assignment based on, for example, a mesh of latitude by longitude of 1degrees by 1degrees followed by a finer length and width induced raster. Associated data is then stored in a reference list in the form of individual files (BLOB) with a reference or key assigned to the database, while meta-data is stored in the database core.
