A resource manager (RM) (1) operates with subscribers (3,4) using a data bus (DB). One subscriber offers services used by other subscribers (1-4). The RM stores data about the available services offered by the subscribers, holds the offering subscriber's (OS) service open if the OS service can be used and transmits a response to allow a requesting subscriber to use the OS service via the DB.
