Each interface device in a communications device has a monitoring device (MD) and a connection device (CD) to link to a network and to make a virtual connection. Connection selectors choose one of the interfaces to be passed on to data fed in. The MD/CDs in each interface interlink to make a selection so that only data sent to the MD for a selected interface is selected for a connection.
