<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming a good image without being affected by the resistance fluctuation of a transfer member and the resistance fluctuation of a transfer material due to the environment. <P>SOLUTION: A control means 20 controls voltage to be applied to a transfer member 9 which can come into contact with an image carrier 1 and for transferring an image formed on an image carrier to a transfer material P with the voltage application. The control means 20 A decides a reference voltage value required to supply a prescribed current value corresponding to the kind of the transfer material P to the transfer member 9 coming in contact with the image carrier 1, and, in transferring the image to the transfer material P, applies a transfer voltage value obtained by adding an additive voltage value corresponding to the kind of the transfer material P to the reference voltage value to the transfer member 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
