<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original illuminating device equipped with a light source whose power consumption is lower. <P>SOLUTION: LEDs 11 are arranged in a line or two lines on an array base plate 14 so as to form a conduction pattern on the base plate 14. A transparent plate 12 coated with phosphor is arranged on them. When the plate 12 (its phosphor) is irradiated with ultraviolet rays (UV) outgoing from the arranged LEDs 11, it emits visible light (VR), so that a long light source (linear light source) 10A or 10B having a length in an LED array direction is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
