<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably divide each piece of information of an electronic document without having clear structural information like an e-mail magazine or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In this application, an inputted electronic document is divided into a plurality of partial documents by collating it with a division pattern for specifying a predetermined character string that may appear in a divided line.
