PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-port isolator capable of adjusting insertion loss characteristics and isolation characteristics, and to provide a communication apparatus. SOLUTION: The two-port isolator 1 is roughly provided with a metallic case consisting of a metallic upper case 4 and a metallic lower case 8; a permanent magnet 9; a central electrode assembly 13 consisting of a ferrite 20 and central electrodes 21, 22; and a laminated substrate 30. In the assembly 13, two pairs of first and second central electrodes 21, 22 are provided on the top surface of the circular microwave ferrite 20 so that the electrode 21 orthogonally crosses the electrode 22 at right angles with an insulating layer intervening. The electrode width of the electrode 21 is different from that of the electrode 22. With this constitution, an inductance L1 of the electrode 21 differs from an inductance L2 of the electrode 22.
