PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain naturalness of reproduced audio in a moving picture audio data storage management apparatus and an editing method for storing and reproducing motion picture audio data containing moving picture data and audio data. SOLUTION: The moving picture audio data storage management apparatus has a configuration including a moving picture audio data storage device 1 for storing and reproducing moving picture audio data 5 containing the moving picture data and the audio data; an audio level management table 6 regarding a block where a level of the audio data is lower than or equal with a level threshold and which is continued longer than a block threshold as a soundless block and storing management information containing position information of the block, block information indicating a length of the block and level information indicating an average level within the block, and a moving picture audio data editing apparatus 11 for performing editing, high-speed reproduction, low-speed reproduction and the like by referring to the management information stored in the audio level management table 6, and the inside of a block closest to a cut point of a moving picture and regarded as the soundless block is defined as a cut point of audio in editing.
