PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator to neutralize charges of an electrostatic charged object which generates a stable glow discharge in an atmospheric pressure, does not generate ozone, and needs a precise ion balance control. SOLUTION: This static eliminator is provided with a protruding electrode 1 having a protruding part 11, a hollow electrode 2 having a small hole part 21 installed in opposition to the protruding part 11, and a power source 41 to supply voltage to be impressed on the protruding electrode 1, and it neutralizes the charges of the electrostatic charged object by generating the stable glow discharge in the atmospheric pressure. The voltage which the power source 41 supplies has a sine wave alternating current having DC bias components. Alternatively, it is a rectangular alternating current of a variable duty ratio installed with dwell times. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
