PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device of an air conditioner for easily allowing remote control using a LAN and the Internet without imposing an excessive burden on a control part of an air conditioner body. SOLUTION: A communication part 2c of an indoor machine 2 and a communication part 3a of the remote control device 3 are connected by a wire. The remote control device is provided with a wireless communication part 3e for communicating with a wireless remote control device by using an infrared ray and radio transmission and a converting part 3d for converting a communication signal with the wireless communication part into a communication signal with the air conditioner. The remote control device is provided with LANIF 3n connected to the LAN, and the LANIF is connected to the converting part. The remote control device is provided with a telephone line and various communication IF 3f such as RS-232C and IEEE 1394, and the communication IF is connected to the converting part.
