PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a removal roller and a removing method for a rope material for load hoisting quickly and stably removing the rope material for the load hoisting when hoisting and stacking a plurality of sheet piles slung by a slinging wire. SOLUTION: When stacking the plurality of sheet piles 10 hoisted with the slinging wire 20, this removal roller 30 is disposed between the lower sheet piles 10a and the upper sheet piles 10b for removing the slinging wire 20 from the upper sheet piles 10b to be stacked on the lower sheet piles 10a. This removal roller is provided with a lower roller part 32 to abut on the upper surface 10a3 of the lower sheet piles 10a, an upper roller part 33 to abut on the lower surface 10b3 of the upper sheet piles 10b, a tensile wire 36 and the like.
