A rubber composition containing 100 parts by weight of a diene-based rubber and 10 to 100 parts by weight of silica having an aluminum content of 0.01 to 0.24% by weight, a CTAB specific surface area of 70 to 210 m<2>/g, a BET/CTAB ratio of 1.0 to 1.4 and a number of silanol groups per unit area of 3.0 to 5.5 groups/nm<2 >and having superior overall properties of processability, dispersibility, abrasion resistance, wet abrasion and low heat buildup.
