<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen-supplying substance which has a high hydrogen-supplying capability, and does not stick to a system and clog piping, and to provide a hydrogen storing and supply system utilizing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen storing substance comprises at least one 1-methyldecalin isomer selected from trans-cis-1-methyldecalin, trans-trans-1-methyldecalin, cis-cis-1-methyldecalin or cis-trans-1-methyldecalin, or a mixture of the 1-methyldecalin and decalin, or a mixture of the above mixture and at least one of hydrogenated aromatic compounds.
