<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new calcium phosphate cement which can be used as a bone filler or a bone substitute, and has both of high bioresorbability and sufficient compressive strength, and a method of preparing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The self-setting calcium phosphate cement having a Ca/P molar ratio of 1.35-1.40, preferably, 1.39 is formed from a powdery mixture and a setting solution (Na<SB>2</SB>HPO<SB>4</SB>-2H<SB>2</SB>O). The powdery mixture contains, as a first component, bi-phasic α-TCP(Ca<SB>3</SB>(PO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>2</SB>,95 wt.%) + HA(Ca<SB>10</SB>(PO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>6</SB>(OH)<SB>2</SB>,5 wt.%) powder, obtained by wet chemical synthesis procedures and, as a second component, single phase DCPD(CaHPO<SB>4</SB>-2H<SB>2</SB>O) powder, obtained by similar procedures. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
